The 12-story office building named Eden will be enriched with a green wall facade of over 350,000 plants featuring 32 different species. Undoubtedly, the main advantage will be the carbon purification of the air, but it will also help to enrich biodiversity and reduce the surrounding noise. The green wall will be completely self-sufficient thanks to regular sunlight and rainwater.
Barnshaws produced multiple curved sections and porthole beams that have been precisely bent to match the contemporary decor of the building's facade. Thanks to decades of experience in bending, Barnshaws were able to utilise our skills to ensure steelwork was supplied to our customer, Evadx, accurately and within schedule.

Barnshaws was able to complete the work entirely in-house, due to the company having possibly the largest cold metal bending capacity in the world.
Eden is being developed by the English City fund a joint venture between urban regeneration Muse developments, Legal & General and Homes England. The main contractor for that project is Bowmer +Kirkland and Civic Engineers has been appointed as a structural engineer for the project.
The £36 million scheme is set for completion in 2023 and is being built under BREEAM requirements and according to the NABARS UK scheme, making it the first to do so in the region.
