Barnshaws Metal Bending – Hamilton, our branch in Scotland has completed four large cylinders for well-known fabricators from Aberdeen.
The scope of work included shearing 8 mm thick 2.5m x 10.1m free issue plates on a sheet metal guillotine and rolling them to 3m diameter 2.5m wide cylinders on plate rollers.
As rolled plates this size would simply collapse during transport a set of bespoke stiffeners were added to support the weight of cylinders.
