The Manchester Branch of metal fabrication specialists Barnshaws Section Benders took the opportunity to spread the goodwill to the least fortunate in Manchester City Centre this festive season. Wayne Salkeld, his son Jack, who both work for Barnshaws, and Wayne’s wife Lesley were asked by a friend to help provide transport to take clothes, food and toiletries in support of the homeless this Christmas.
The family team used a Barnshaws flatbed as transport into the city centre – packed to the brim with essentials and comforts to help ease the pressures of being on the street during the wet Christmas period. The trio met and helped distribute the aid to the homeless, upholding the Christmas spirit to the delight of the recipients and local community.
Wayne, Regional Director of the Manchester Branch, commented afterwards, ‘the very least that I can say is that it was a very humbling experience indeed. I am glad that we at Barnshaws were able to give something back.’
